The print on this model is a representation of Jean Jacoby's work entitled "Football Match at Les Minettes".

Jean Jacoby is a renowned Luxembourgish artist, particularly famous for his abundant creation of drawings, paintings, posters, and illustrations depicting athletes from various disciplines in action.

Thanks to his two victories in 1924 and 1928, achieved with his trio of paintings "Étude de sport" and his drawing "Rugby", he is the most awarded participant in the history of the "Pentathlon of the Muses", as Pierre de Coubertin liked to call the Olympic Games Art Competition, which comprised artistic events parallel to the sporting events.

In this charcoal drawing enhanced with gouache, Jean Jacoby offers us a work where blue and yellow tones harmonise magnificently.
The scene witnessed by the spectator is taken from a football match between two teams playing on a field surrounded by the smoking chimneys of the surrounding steel mills. Football at that time was very much encouraged by industrialists, who notably offered work to their players, flexible schedules, etc.
Undoubtedly, this match takes place near a factory located in Lorraine. The title of the work gives us a great indication by referring to "minette", a Lorraine iron ore intensely exploited in the last century by the region's steel industry.
Jean Jacoby, due to his geographical position, could draw inspiration from it, as he spent many years at the crossroads of Lorraine, Luxembourg, and Germany.

In the same vein as the painting he presented at the Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games entitled "Football Association in Winter", we see on a somewhat snowy field, in the foreground, a player in full stride preparing to strike the ball, as evidenced by his posture and his face concentrated on the action.
The movement and perspective are skilfully rendered by his two opponents in pursuit, one running alongside him, though slightly outmanoeuvred in his duel, and the other following a few metres behind.
