"Jumping Over The Water Lily Pond" revisits The Water Lily Pond (1899), one of the most famous paintings Claude Monet devoted to the water garden of his house in Giverny.
The Japanese bridge, the water lilies in bloom, the weeping willow and the irises are all there, painted in small touches of green, pink and blue. Our one creative choice: the garden is more in bloom than in Monet's paintings, with pink flowering shrubs framing the scene. But this time, a rider and her horse leap over a low wall, as if suspended above the pond. The calm of the garden meets the momentum of show jumping.
